“The Boy” (originally titled "Care About Me") is one of the scrapped tracks for Camila Cabello’s debut studio album, Camila, and is co-written by Ed Sheeran. There are two versions of the song, one featuring Ed Sheeran the other being a solo demo record by only Camila.
The song was originally written by Ed Sheeran. To iHeart, Ed Sheeran compared the song to Beyoncé’s "Crazy in Love" and revealed that Camila changed drastically the demo he had sent her.
It didn’t make it to the final cut because it didn't fit on her debut album, Camila, "So I felt kinda weird... but at the end it just didn’t fit sonically with the album, even though it’s such a great song, it just felt like the only one that felt like it was on another kind of album" said Cabello. On January 22, 2018, Camila sang the pre-chorus of the track in an interview with Billboard.
The song was given to the British Girl Group named Little Mix.
A snippet of the song was leaked by Music Mafia on the 20th of April
